M’s Salon is a community-based group in Meguro, Tokyo, offering opportunities to learn new skills, meet people, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.
We believe that learning is not only about gaining knowledge. It is also about discovering something new about ourselves and connecting with others.
A Message from Masumi
My journey with Japanese tea culture began in San Francisco in 1996, when I learned the Japanese tea ceremony from a Japanese immigrant teacher.
Through learning the Japanese tea ceremony, I came to appreciate how its movements are aesthetically pleasing and full of spiritual depth. Meeting my teacher inspired me to learn more about my own culture and share the beauty of Japanese traditions with others.
Today, I hope to share the beauty of Japanese culture with others through the table tea ceremony. More than teaching a traditional practice, I would love to create opportunities for people to connect, learn from one another, and discover something new.

Our Activities
Table Tea Ceremony
Discover the beauty of Japanese tea culture in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Our table-style tea ceremony allows you to enjoy the spirit and traditions of Japanese tea without sitting in the traditional seiza position. Whether you are new to Japanese tea culture or simply curious about it, you are welcome to join us.
Pilates
Pilates helps you develop body awareness, improve posture, and build strength through mindful movement. Our classes focus on moving comfortably and taking care of your body at your own pace. Please contact us for information about trial sessions and upcoming classes.
Our activities take place at public community facilities in Meguro, Tokyo. The venue may vary depending on the activity and date.
I can understand simple everyday English, and I’m happy to communicate in English. I’m still learning, so I may sometimes need a little time to find the right words. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting people from different backgrounds and learning from each other.
